Testing and Evaluation Methods
for Active Vehicle Safety

Workplan

The eVALUE project is organised in work packages. All of these work packages regard the four different system clusters in which the ICT-based safety systems have been divided.

WP1: Concept Definition

The main objective of WP1 is to establish the basis of the project work by defining general concepts for testing and evaluation of ICT-based automotive safety systems. The investigation and definition of concepts will enable to develop a level of understanding of the integrated safety system and make clear the conditions that initiate the execution of the safety function.

WP2: Testing Strategies

The specific objective of WP2 is the development, the definition and the analysis of test and evaluation methods for all different
properties/features of the object systems. This also covers the assignment of testing methods of ICT-based safety systems as well as the definition and detailed development of testing and evaluation methods for each feature of the domain of ICT-based safety systems.

WP3: Integration

The objective of this work package is to integrate the test procedures developed into four test orders tailored for each system cluster (longitudinal control, lateral control, stability control and one additional cluster). The test procedures developed in WP2 will therefore be used. The interaction between systems should also be tested in test orders for traffic scenarios such as forward collision, crossing collision, overtaking accident or single vehicle accident.

WP4: Performance Testing

The objective of this work package is to validate the test methods and procedures that have been developed in previous work packages. Each of the test orders developed within the eVALUE project will be executed according to its corresponding test plan with at least one vehicle equipped with systems of the specific domain (i.e. forward collision, crossing collision etc.).

WP5: Dissemination

This work package will focus on bringing information and results of the project to public awareness and potential customers. Besides, seminars and workshops with all relevant stakeholder groups will be held throughout the duration of eVALUE.
